Dani is amazing. I had been in therapy before, working with a woman twice my age, and didn't think I would want to deviate from that and her level of expertise. I am so glad I gave Dani and chance and have been working with her ever since. She is kind, empathetic, a really good listener, well versed in many topics all over the spectrum, and gives excellent advice - much beyond a sounding board. Our conversations are very dynamic and she lets me develop my entire thought before interjecting. She has my back and I am so grateful!

Dani is an absolute dream to come true. She is so easy to talk to and has an unbelievable memory, but she also guides you to real insight that helps you understand yourself. Understanding why your brain works the way it does is so empowering, and Dani is able to provide this alongside empathic encouragement. I would reccomend her to anyone looking to understand their trauma and tackle challenges.

More about Deanna

For many of us, it has been a significantly challenging few years. Wide spread grief across the nation due to multiple factors has taken a toll on mental health and overall everyday functioning. Old traumas have resurfaced and the needs of family, friends, colleagues, jobs, pets, partners in addition to supporting our own mental health needs can feel exhausting, an unclimbable hill if you will. It is a lot. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, & depression. I am licensed in Maine and before joining BetterHelp, I worked in multiple schools throughout Maine and Massachusetts as a clinical social worker. This involved a lot of work with family systems and support to parents/caregivers/guardians. It also involved support to teachers and outside providers, discussing compassion fatigue, boundaries, adapted approaches to meet specific needs, and sometimes being a trusted ear to vent to. I have specific training in Trauma Systems Therapy which focuses on an individual’s emotional needs as well as the social environment in which the individual lives and functions in. It is a holistic approach that I find helps create the fullest picture of a person’s life so we are able to assess areas for strengthening and areas that are protective factors for the individual.

My goal is to create a space that is yours, truly yours. I believe that you are the expert of your story. If this is your first time working with a therapist it will be a pleasure to work with you and I am excited for our journey. Congratulations to you for taking this first big step! If you are returning to therapy I would love to know what has been helpful and maybe what hasn’t been so helpful. Creating a safe environment with trust and understanding are key elements of the work we will be doing. I aim to lay the foundation for a strong trusting nonjudgmental therapeutic environment that is safe for all. I know that this can be an uncomfortable experience. I want you to know I am here with you and I appreciate your willingness to consider my support as we explore methods that best meet your needs.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Hi there! So I was asked to submit a review by better help. Honestly it makes me emotional! Dani has been understanding, kind and empowering. I had been in therapy prior but in our first video conference I spilled it all and she actually has been the first professional to show emotion for me and validate what I’m going through. I have relied on her alot this past month and I am so thankful I have her as my therapist at this point. Having a therapist who you know is your “best friend you can only talk to for an hour a week with variation that you pay for” is exactly what Dani has been to me. I’m so grateful for her!!

I’m completely satisfied with Deanna !! She is very caring and encouraging! Deanna takes time to listen and hear exactly what I’m saying and with each session it seems to be a very good match ! I look forward to each session !
