Hello, my name is Sarah Cunliffe. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.

I am a fully qualified and insured Person-centred counsellor. I am a registered member of the British Association of counselling and psychotherapy(MBACP)

The core of my practice is to offer you a confidential safe space where you feel supported, understood and respected without feeling judged. My aim is to support you while you explore whatever issues may be causing you distress.

As a Person-Centred counsellor I believe that a person has the ability to decide what is right and best for them, and by exploring our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and experiences and having a better understanding of them, gives us the tools we need to make positive changes. I feel strongly about helping you to strengthen your own ability to identify and implement solutions that are right for you so that you feel empowered and able to draw on your inner resources no longer needing me.

I have worked with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds with wide ranging issues, I started my career in Nursing 25 years ago and worked in a variety of specialities with adults with both physical illness and mental health issues. which led me to appreciate the benefit of good counselling and psychotherapy.

I have provided counselling for Leicester Women's Counselling centre for several years and this is a service that works to improve the lives of women and girls with very complex and multiple needs or who are victims of abuse and/or trauma.

I am also working with First Step in Leicester who provide counselling and psychotherapy for men who are survivors of sexual abuse and trauma.

The rest of my time is spent working in private practice, where i work with a variety of issues and concerns from anxiety and panic through to trauma related issues from domestic violence and sexual abuse.

It takes courage to seek help, to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready, I am here to support you.

I look forward to working with you!

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments.
