Daius has a very nice way of inquiring with me into the things that matter. Gentle, engaging and curious, he manages to challenge me in a way that helps me think differently without being judgmental or imposing his own perspective. I recommend him!

More about Daius

  • 5 years' experience
  • Male
  • BACP

I work with people who are trying to making sense of their place in the world, exploring questions of meaning, purpose and identity. This may coincide with with feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, and other mental health difficulties.

If you're considering therapy, you may know what you want to work on, but feel stuck, frustrated, or in need of some support. You may know that something's not right but not know where to start. Psychotherapy is a space for you to discuss what's on your mind in a non-judgemental collaborative setting. My job as a therapist is to help you explore and reflect on your situation, hearing your point of view with compassion, honesty, and respect.

My approach is:

Humanistic

The foundation of my approach is humanistic and person centred. This means your experience of your life is the most important subject of therapy. You ultimately have the capacity to understand your world better than anyone else.

Collaborative

I work collaboratively, this means meeting you where you are and forming a shared understanding of your current circumstances - what you want to change, and what's getting in the way. My job is to help you tackle themes like these as clearly and authentically as possible, providing a safe environment for growth and exploration.

Integrative

How we move towards what you want will depend on what that is, and what's standing in your way.

I aim to meet you where you are - drawing on specific frameworks for understanding your current ways of being in the world. Integrating new understanding with your current worldview.

Some ways ways of thinking that we may refer to in therapy:

- Existential - The individual has a unique ability to find and create meaning in their lives.

- Mindful - There is value in bringing awareness to yourself and the world in the present moment.

- Relational - We are not static objects, we exist in relation to our environment and fellow people.

- Narrative - We make sense of our situations through the stories we tell ourselves and others.
