I am a therapist because I have come to learn that a tremendous amount of people feel alone, left out, unheard, irrelevant, tired, worthless, unconnected, unwelcomed, sad, anxious and fearful. They need someone to listen to them. They need someone to help them see they have value. They need skills to help them change their sadness and fear, to happiness and courage.

I have come to learn that a tremendous amount of people feel alone, left out, unheard, irrelevant, tired, worthless, unconnected, unwelcomed, sad, anxious and fearful. They need someone to listen to them. They need someone to teach them they have value. They need skills to help them change their sadness and fear to happiness and courage.

I realised early on I had a knack for guiding people through darkness. I became a therapist because I am human and have fought my own battles, not always with ease but with hope and determination. It’s kind of like “giving back,” if you will. If I can help one client live with more authenticity and pride, my job is done.

I am a fully qualified Person Centred Counsellor, registered with The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and have experience of working with many different people with many different issues.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I've had weekly sessions with Gerard for the past 6 months and it is genuinely hard for me to put into words the significant positive change that I've experienced in my life throughout this period. He is a great listener and has always made me feel safe in our conversations, knowing that I wasn't being judged in any way for the external and internal conflicts that I've been facing. Together we have talked and dealt with it all in much depth, which has been invaluable in my progress to feeling better, more open, empowered and excited about my life.

Gerard is great. Having gotten to know him over my first few sessions, I was immediately put at ease with the issues I had. Knowing I had someone to talk too, not only that had the expertise to help but was able to see and understand me. The ability to empathise with me not just sympathise due to similar experiences has been a great help. He's been attentive and caring from the start, willing to go down the directions I wanted to speak about.

I only had a few sessions with Gerard so far but these have been extremely helpful, and I already feel hopeful and positive about the future and being able to solve my problems. He is warm and a fantastic listener, asks very good questions, and is able to 'connect the dots' between different sessions and issues which is so helpful. We came up with good conclusions/ plans for me each time, and I feel much calmer.

Reviewed August 2022

I've only had a couple of sessions and I was nervous as all hell at first. But he's got such a warm manner striking the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness that I was at ease within minutes of speaking to him the first time, and he's so supportive it's nice to have someone to talk to who actually listens and can offer insight. Based solely on my impression of him I've recommended this app to a few different people already.

I started my subscription with BetterHelp in hopes that I can get the help I need to cope with a very difficult time in my life. I initially didn’t have any expectations, only the hope that therapy will allow me to get through stress and anxiety and see though the problems that I was facing. Well, I believe I was really lucky to find Gerry Quinn. He is a wonderful person and he knew exactly how to deal with my situation and offered me the help and support I needed so much. He is a great listener and he offered me the tools to enable me to find some clarity and feel more in control of my life. I am so greatful that I found him and I hope that other people that are going though difficult times will find the help and support they need by reaching out to him. I cannot recommend Gerry enough. Thank you so much again for everything! :)
