Meltem Hussein has been amazing with helping me through some difficult emotions. I especially loved how she really listened at the start to the things I wanted to work on, and has stayed focussed on that. I would highly recommend her as a therapist.

I am a fully qualified integrative Counsellor and psychotherapist who is registered with the BACP (the professional body for counsellors). Whether you have or have not had counselling before I suggest you hear more about how I work as counsellors work in different ways.

As you know counselling is a ‘talking treatment’. This means we would explore together what you want to change and find a way forward that feels manageable for you. Through working with me in this way individuals begin to develop and change. This in my opinion is all done by having the capacity to heal, grow and create a life that is more fitting with what we desire. Meaning making and helping people re-discover and attain these inner resources that so often feel like they’re lost through either distortion, mistrust and experiences in life.

You can expect a warm, genuine and respectful attitude from myself when we work together. Drawing and writing are also a couple of other ways we can work together. After all.. these are your sessions!

I am a fully qualified Counsellor with individual registration with BACP (British association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I therefore have a diploma in Counselling and undertake continuing professional development through specialised training course.

I have helped individuals obtain relief from a wide range of issues including: Depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship difficulties, guilt, trauma and abuse.

As well as working in private practice I have also counselled within a bereavement service.

If you have been in therapy before and that experience did not resolve your issues, bear in mind that psychotherapy for example, is a name for a very diverse range of theoretical models and treatment approaches, and individual psychotherapists apply the model and method in which they are trained in their personal way. Some peoples issues may be susceptible to almost any model or approach, whereas others need a particular method that not all therapists use.

I am trained in a number of models and approaches and try to tailor the treatment I offer to your particular needs, rather than to expecting your need to be susceptible to a single treatment approach.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Mel has been an amazing therapist and absolutely instrumental in my progress. She is attentive, kind, honest, considerate and I felt like I could very easily connect with her on an authentic level. Even thought she was my therapist, it felt like I was talking to a very knowledgeable friend with amazing listening skills and advice, it helped me open up and share things that we could work on. She wasn’t afraid to ask me questions and could recognise that I often had the answer deep down, she helped me to hold myself accountable and learn how to be my own therapist moving forward. I have gotten so much out of these sessions and I feel confident to continue through the next journey with everything I have learned! Thank you so much Mel for everything!!

I've only had 3 sessions with Mel so far and I feel supported, understood and listened to. I feel like I had had therapy with Mel for longer a time than I have because she makes you feel at ease, in a safe environment, with somebody that has your back. I feel hopeful about the future and would certainly like to continue my therapy with her as I feel she's helping me maintain what I've achieved so far and improve over time.

I’ve just had my third session with Meltem. I am so grateful to have her as my therapist. I can’t recommend her enough she’s easy to talk to, professional and understanding. I always feel comfortable and heard. From day one she understood me, how I operate and how to best help me. Meltem puts her best into every session. I’m sure she really cares for all her clients. Already feel like I’ve made big progress and look forward to future sessions. Thank you !!

Meltem AKA Mel has been very patient with me in these early days. Personally i think i have so much going on in the present that has possibly been influenced by so much that has happened.. Mel has been a star so far, picking through my offerings and learning more about me my past and future.

Meltem is the first therapist I’ve seen and I couldn’t be any happier. She’s very understanding and really gets what I’m saying and how I’m feeling. She doesn’t only look at different perspectives but she looks at my issues from a cultural perspectives which I’m really happy with as it plays a major role in my life.

I've been with Meltem for less than a month and my mental health has gone from deep diving in a cesspool of self-doubt to... I'm not going to say I'm okay or fixed, but she gave me hope and that hope is doing lovely things to me. She remembers, she empathises. Her intuition baffles me every single session. I feel seen, which is just a way to say that I've made an actual connection with her. Every single thing I say she files away in a mental folder somewhere and retrieves it when appropriate. I've been in therapy before, I've had several therapists and I can honestly say I've never felt like I was in better hands.
