Hello! I’m Laura a Person Centred Counsellor.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me.

As a person centred counsellor, my focus during sessions is on you and your needs. This purely means sessions will be directed by yourself and we will focus on the topics in which you bring up. I will not direct you to discuss anything you do not yet feel comfortable doing.

In some cases, a client may want to be more solution focused and directive, please let me know if this would suit your needs better as I also have experience with Solution Focus Therapy and can provide this.

I am based in the UK and have completed a level 7 BACP accredited course here. This has allowed me to now be a registered member of the BACP (#00948037).

I have experience working with a wide range of clients, within multiple different settings, remotely and in person.

I work with individuals, couples/relationships and families. Sometimes working with parents to enable them to better support their child/ren.

I continue to work with a magnitude of presenting issues, from suicidal thoughts, self-harm, abuse, assault, domestic violence to low self-esteem, anxiety, sexuality, gender questioning, communication, confidence, work/job/life satisfaction and lack of motivation.

I have experience working with those with Neurodiversities such as ADHD, Autism and other such diagnosis.

I am confident I will be able to work with any issue you bring, in a safe and confidential space, without judgement.

It is important you feel comfortable with your therapist and if there are any conflicts please say and we can discuss this and work on this however I will not be offended if you would rather try working with someone else. This is your space and it needs to work for you.

I am a warm and friendly person and will encourage you to empower yourself.

I am looking forward to working with you ☺️

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
