Susie has been an incredible therapist. She has helped me so much with everything. She has guided me to see things from different perspectives and how to look at the situations I can control, rather than what I cannot. I would 10/10 recommend her expertise to anyone

More about Susanna

  • 15 years' experience
  • Female
  • BACP

Qualified with a Masters in Counselling in 2008, I am a registered BACP counsellor / therapist, and have gained many years of experience working in various settings including large corporations, private medical practice and in the voluntary sector. I currently work through my own practice, 'Silver linings Counselling, based in Ripon, North Yorkshire. I am able to offer counselling and more structured career and executive coaching, and have worked with clients from over 30 countries and am sensitive and respectful of diversity and cross cultural issues.

My approach is warm and supportive, and I take a client-centred (person centred) approach and aim to provide a safe and inspirational space for clients to explore the challenges they are facing in life, without judgment. I ensure that every client feels respected, valued and treated as an individual. I avoid 'labels' and focus on alleviating symptoms to help people create a happier life. I have expertise in CBT ( Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), but use a range of approaches and techniques, depending on the issues clients are facing.

I see adult clients face-to-face locally and also offer online support through ZOOM video or telephone according to clients preferences. I work with people across the globe and in the U.K. I look forward to hearing from you, and seeing how I might help.

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Very warm and welcoming. Susanna is very easy to open up to. Nullifies all my excessive worrying which is always helpful. Overall, a great listener and provides great advice and strategies to help manage my issues.

Susanna has tied together many threads I was too blinkered to see, and done so with compassion and kindness. I couldn’t recommend her more highly, though I shouldn’t if I want some slots to remain open.

Reviewed May 2022

Talking to Susie made me feel hopeful for the first time in many months.

Susanna and I have only had a few sessions so far but I am so happy we were connected. I've never clicked with a therapist before and generally my experience in the past has been the listen, nod and 'how did that make you feel' type therapy which does nothing for my chatty personality. Susanna discusses my issues, is flexible with my freelance schedule, offers advice or insight, makes me feel validated and we chat throughout. She makes me feel comfortable, is unjudgemental, professional and seems genuinely interested. I'm ready to unlock what is holding me back and I'm already starting to see improvements. A safe kind space for me to offload so I can be the best version of myself around everyone I love
