Wendy is incredibly professional and is a great listener. She refers back to what I've said in previous sessions, unlike other therapists I've had here which makes me feel valued and heard.

Wendy is brilliant, she has truly saved me in some dark times. She is kind, listens to me and never makes me feel silly even when I know I’m doing something I shouldn’t be. She has truly be a blessing and I’m so thankful for her. First ever match on this app was Wendy and I’m so happy for this. Highly recommend

Sometimes life can feel a little out of control and unbalanced somehow, when your wellbeing has reached the bottom of your priority pile again. Maybe this is how you are feeling right now. If you would like to be heard and find a space to explore what you are experiencing from the comfort of your own home, using online or telephone counselling, then I would love to help you.

I trained at Waverley Abbey College and was awarded a Diploma of Higher Education in Counselling from Middlesex University. I have since gained a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling too.

I work as an integrative counsellor and so this means that some of the work I do will be focused on the past. Some will include how our thoughts, emotions, behaviours and bodies are connected and specifically what you want to focus on.

I am also fully committed to offering a welcoming, supportive and inclusive service.

I chose Saam Counselling Services as the name of my practice because the word Saam means together in Africaans and I believe that this is a true reflection of what a successful counselling relationship looks like.

I have experience of supporting clients dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship issues and change.

I now work primarily with adults who are mourning a loss though. By enabling clients to share their stories, I can help them begin to process the impact of their grief. Loss can present in many ways and it's consequences are equally varied. It is an individual path on journeys we all take at different times, which if you wanted me to, I could accompany you on. I also serve as a volunteer counsellor for Stafford and District Bereavement and Loss Support Service.

I hope that you will find working with me provides you with the opportunity to pause, reflect and take the time, within a secure environment, to consider what your needs are. You matter!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
