Josephine is a great listener and offers deep and helpful insights, so I feel comfortable and very engaged with our sessions. The session environment is non-judgemental and kind, and that helps me build trust. I've only had four sessions with her so far, but I'm already seeing progress. I'd very strongly recommend her.

More about Josephine

Hello my name is Josephine and I am a Psychodynamic therapist registered with the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychologists).

I am happy to work with you on BH mostly via messaging.

I have a deep interest in exploring the roots of difficult feelings and behaviours. We often get stuck repeating patterns of thought and behaviour which can leave us feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. Therapy may help us notice these patterns and gain a deeper appreciation of how and why we acquire them. With this new found space, we can offer alternatives to ourselves in how we are able to acknowledge and respond to our distress.

Together we will begin uncovering unconscious processes which are likely to be showing up in your life. With this new found knowledge we can move forward in resolving difficult relationships and ways of being in the world.

I have worked with people from a range of cultural backgrounds and have extensive experience working in several diverse boroughs in London.

I have worked with people facing a wide range of issues including but not limited to:

Anxiety

Low mood & depression

Disordered eating

Bereavement and loss

OCD

Suicidality

Domestic abuse

Relationships

Shame

Anger

Childhood and other trauma (including relational/attachment trauma, transgenerational trauma, sexual abuse, neglect, homelessness, torture/war/loss of home, loss of status/family, major life transitions, move from one country to another/culture to another)

My aim as a therapist is to be authentic and to communicate with you honestly and openly.

It is not often that we are able to give ourselves a specific, intentional space each week in order to reflect and ‘just be’. It is a privileged space and we will work together to honour this by speaking openly about how the therapy is going. Please see my website below for more information on me and how I practice.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
