  • BACP

I am a registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist, with the BACP, working in the UK for more than 10 years as a Counsellor with adults (including couples), young people and children, and more recently as a Psychotherapist. Over the past 10 years, working with various clients of all ages has enabled me to build up experience in many areas. Areas of my experience include, but are not limited to, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse, anger, anxiety, bereavement, bullying, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, stress, trauma, PTSD, relationship issues, low self esteem and confidence.

Working as a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist I can offer you a confidential relationship, working in a non-judgmental way, with understanding and sensitivity, enabling you to explore your emotions and feelings at your pace.

Our process together will encourage a new awareness; an understanding of your experiences, feelings and emotions, where new patterns of thoughts and behaviour can emerge, offering a new hope of emotional and physical strength, a new sense of freedom, and empowerment.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

I am only a few weeks into my sessions with Marie, but I feel an instant click. She is very understanding, calm, empathetic and professional. She has a lovely manner and the flow of the conversation is authentic and not forced. She doesn’t over-message but always checks in on me in between sessions. I’m really pleased with my match.

I've had only one session with Marie but she has bought out so much in me in that one session compared to over 10 sessions I've previously had with another therapist elsewhere, I gave up hope in therapy but thought I will try again & there is definitely help with the right person. Marie is highly recommended & she knows how to work with your needs & bring things out in you that you never knew about yourself to help on your healing journey. Thank you Marie

Marie is FAB! We have been working together for around 7 months and I am sad to say good bye. However, she has armed me with the skills required and supported me into a a place where I feel confident to keep moving forward independently. My anxiety is almost gone and I have replaced unhealthy coping mechanisms. Thank you Marie! I will miss you!

Marie Milne is warm, down to earth and easy to talk to as well as being professional in her attitude and regularly checks in/responds between sessions in a timely manner. I always feel she is fully prepared and immersed in our sessions together with a genuine desire to help me get to where I want and need to be. She has supported me in exploring the possible roots of my anxiety, depression and OCD. I have hope for the first time and the progress I have made has encouraged me to improve my self-care, assert my needs and learn to forgive/love myself. Thank you.

Reviewed April 2023

It is early days in my therapy but I have found the whole experience with better help and with Marie Milne to have been easy and helpful thus far. I put off seeking support for a long, long time but I feel comfortable and listened to and glad that I have begun this journey. I would recommend both better help and Marie Milne to anyone in need of support.
