About me:

I work as a counsellor. I am down to earth, friendly and understand a lot about people and the world that we live in.

I have an open mind and know that everybody is unique. I have experienced many different life experiences, which comes out in my personality this helps me understand and connect to many different people, which helps build a trusting therapeutic relationship in our sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

BACP Accredited diploma in Integrative therapeutic counselling. Have my own private practice as a counsellor. NHS trained in Cognitive behaviour therapy and 6 years working for the NHS in

therapeutic services. Bereavement counselling.

Working in domestic violence, street work, rape, abuse and more.

Working with addictions, abandonment, loss, bereavement, pre bereavement, trauma, PTSD OCD, anxiety, depression, unhealthy thought patterns or behaviours and many different life situations.

Continuing personal development. I regularly attend workshops and seminars to keep in line with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and to keep up to date with current changes. 15 years family liaison and emotional support coordinator.

My approach:

Is to treat people as individuals and help you explore without judgments or criticism. I am open to many situations you may need to bring to counselling. I am professional and human with several life experiences. I bring my open, empathetic personality into our counselling sessions to try and help you explore your situations with ease. My job as a counsellor is to give clients the space to explore what may be bothering you in a safe, confidential space. I am an integrative counsellor, which means I use different approaches to suit you. The theories I mainly follow are:

The Person-centred theory, which is about the client and the counselling

relationship. CBT , this focuses on the here and now feelings, thoughts, and

behaviours and how you can tackle them.

I use which ever theory suits my clients with an understanding for their need.

I offer short- and long-term therapy.

How I think I can help?

I believe that everybody is unique and sometimes we all feel confused, not understood, or understand what we are going through. We might find that our mental health, behaviours, and feelings impact us in ways we are not able resolve. In a safe and trusting environment I can offer counselling, therapeutic support to help you understand what may be happening for you and come up with healthier coping mechanisms and possible ways of long term change through exploration or strategic tools.
