Counselling is about relationships: your relationships with friends, family, colleagues and yourself, and also your therapeutic relationship with your counsellor. I will work in partnership alongside you, supporting you to explore your difficulties and helping you to achieve your aims or goals.

Our counselling relationship will be non-judgemental, genuine, honest and open, which is also made safe by confidentiality. You will be listened to and respected. I will aim to understand your world as you experience it, see things from your perspective and work with you at a pace that is comfortable and safe for you. Through this shared journey comes understanding and insight, which I believe is the first step towards change or acceptance.

As an alternative to talking therapy, I can use creative exploration to meet the communication needs of each unique person.

If you feel counselling could be helpful for you, then the next step is to contact me for a consultation session.

I believe the key to successful therapy is that client and counsellor are able to connect with each other. The relationship jointly developed between client and counsellor is at the heart of the counselling process and very important to the outcome of therapy therefore; I believe it is very important to find a counsellor with whom you feel comfortable and who you feel you can trust.

Why Counselling?

Life is full of change, however we often ignore or attempt to resist change either consciously or unconsciously. It is no wonder, because change can often feel like loss, or a giving up of something. However, understanding change as a normal part of life, and embracing the challenges it brings will ultimately help us to grow and tap into inner resources we never thought we had. In this sense, change can be a positive thing in our lives..

Take the first step…

Whether you are just curious about your life and where it is going or want insight into your behaviour and relationships with others; have had to deal with a difficult issue like a sudden loss, trauma or bereavement; have been experiencing more stress or anxiety in your life than usual; have difficulty balancing the demands and pressures of work and life; or just want some focussed, expert help on life goals and your future path, then Counselling may be for you.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Michelle has helped my in ways that I cannot express, I was in a very bad place and she help me though my bad times. She is kind, and takes alot of time to listen to my problems. I wouldn't be where I am today without her. Either though I'm not in a bad place right now she is still continuing to help me gain my confidence and self worth back. Thank you Michelle.

Michelle is a fantastic therapist who is both intelligent and empathetic. She has a breadth of experience in many different areas of psychology and psychotherapy which means she has a lot of different approaches to treatment to suit your own individual needs. After feeling like I wasn’t getting anywhere with my previous therapist, after just one session with Michelle, she suggested we try EMDR therapy for trauma. It has helped me so much. I originally came to Michelle because I wanted to try hypnotherapy for dissociation and to help me with my self esteem and confidence. I have always felt listened to, respected and supported during my sessions with Michelle. She is insightful and always willing to offer suggestions on what they think the most appropriate treatment is for me and whatever I am struggling with. I would recommend Michelle to anyone.

My sessions with Michelle have been very helpful. She has provided me with tools to work through outside of our time together, which have helped me clarify my issues. I feel she has a lot of understanding and knowledge about how to truly help me and I can say that our sessions have been very productive. In addition, talking with her is comfortable and she sets a really nice tone in our conversations.

Michelle has been so wonderful in helping me with my mental health journey. She's very understanding, sympathetic, she always listens, and never makes me feel judged. She offers manageable solutions and is always there if I need to message her. She goes above and beyond, and is a wonderful therapist.

I wasn't sure about doing therapy online but I had got to a point where I needed to do something. I'm so glad I did. I was matched with Michelle and she has helped me enormously. I know that my problems have not completely gone but I feel so much happier and lighter than I did and feel that I can now cope. The only reason I stopped the sessions was my financial situation but if I feel I need help again and I have the money I would definitely request to speak to Michelle again. I can't thank her enough. Online therapy does work!
