I didnt realise when the therapy started working it was so subtle but yet so significant. Emma is amazing, friendly and polite. I have tried therapy before when I felt scared of being judged, but Emma communicated and connected so well with me. She understands my needs and makes me realise ways I can improve my life or myself. She is also very patient in reading my journals and long messages whenever I am anxious or overwhelmed. And I really appreciate it, it has helped me more than anything.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I took the step to sign up to Better Help after an unsuccessful set of sessions via the NHS where I was given a very poor level of service. I dealt with some traumatic experiences surrounding domestic abuse that evolved following parents divorce during my formative years (6-18) which had left me with significant issues in my life in terms of depression, anxiety and an unhealthy set of habits that were affecting my ability to manage a healthy work-life balance, all whilst dealing with the challenges of becoming a new father. In a word, Emma was amazing. Over 14 weeks she listened to all of my worries and concerns from a disruptive past and was able to provide solace and guidance in terms of being understanding with her feedback, and providing excellent literature for me to dissect away from our sessions which stimulated further discussions that she could share her expertise in. Additionally she adds humour and a personal touch to her service which allowed us to develop a relationship that allowed me to feel comfortable to discuss a range of topics and thoughts I had. Where I am now in comparison to the start of my therapy is a complete contrast. I feel so much better - I am able to recognise triggers, manage stress in a much healthier way and have enhanced the quality of the key relationships in my life. And this is down to Emma's superb knowledge and support. Before signing up to Better Help I was sceptical about the cost and how effective virtual therapy would be, but it has been worth every penny. It has opened my eyes to just how important counselling can be in dealing with trauma, and I would not hesitate to re-subscribe to check in or if faced with further issues later down the line. The only reason I am taking a break from the service is because I feel I no longer need it. I have let go of my previous issues and am able to look forward with hope and optimism based on the fact that Emma has given me some key tools, knowledge and guidance that have helped me learn how to deal with my own headspace and how to manage the challenges in my life. If you are on the fence about whether to do this, do what I did and try just one month. I guarantee you won't look back and it could possibly be the best thing you ever do for yourself.

Emma has been understanding, caring, understanding, none judgemental and kind. Emma has sent me helpful information I can read between the sessions. Emma is really quick to reply if I have any questions or need to tell her anything between the sessions. The sessions are definitely helping me address my long standing issues. I was nervous of having counselling and unsure about it but would now recommend it to others.
