Pannavat has played a really important role in rebuilding my confidence. I was nervous about going to therapy, I’d had some counselling on the NHS about 5 years ago - I don’t think I was ready to do the work. But with Pannavat, Palm as he likes to be known, I’ve made some real breakthroughs. Time flies with the sessions, I feel lighter after every session. Thank you Palm!

"When I was 8, I was diagnosed with ADHD and a learning disorder. Support from people around me saved my life from suicidal thoughts and anxiety, and today I hope I can be your support as well."

Hi! I'm Dr. Pannavat Veeraburinon, and I am a HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist and a BACP registered psychotherapist in UK. Please feel free to call me "Palm" (it's my nickname!). Of Thai, Vietnamese, Laotian, and Chinese heritage, I deeply understand multiculturalism, diversity, and family dynamics. Fluent in English and Thai, I have over 4,000+ counselling sessions, having worked with clients from the UK, EU countries, USA, Nigeria, Turkey, India, Taiwan, Singapore, and Thailand. Being bilingual and multicultural has enabled me to be open-minded, flexible, and sensitive in my communication with my clients whose cultural and ethnic backgrounds, perspectives, and ways of seeing the world can be different from mine. Clients I've worked with range from children, adolescents, adults, and elderly. Many of whom suffered from PTSD, ADHD, ASD, depression, burnout, and high-anxiety amongst other issues.

I earned a doctorate degree in counselling psychology at the Glasgow Caledonian University and a master's degree in psychology with Merit (2:1) from the University of Stirling, UK. I was one of the chosen fellows of the Dalai Lama Fellows program at the University of Virginia (US, 2018-2019) where I practised mind training for increasing and teaching self-awareness, self-care, resilience, and connecting with others while working across differences. In 2020, I also earned a certificate of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for Life from The University of Oxford Mindfulness Centre.

My goal as your therapist is to help you tap into your inner resources, find greater clarity and purpose, and ultimately live a more fulfilling life.

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. You are unique, therefore, counselling is a very personal and subjective experience, and I will work with you to develop an integrated therapeutic approach that is tailored specifically to your needs.

During the session, I'll apply an integrated therapeutic approach that blends Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) methods, alongside mindfulness practices to assist you in resolving the difficulties that have been affecting you. I serve as an honest mirror, allowing you to view your issues and goals more clearly as they are. I recognise that embarking on a therapeutic journey can be a daunting experience, and I am committed to creating a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. However, I also understand that true growth often requires stepping outside of our comfort zones. With your permission, I will gently ask thought-provoking questions, reflect on them, and offer practical tools and techniques to help you achieve your goals and intentions. I may also challenge your thoughts and perspectives, but always with the intention of providing holistic perspectives that you may not have considered before.

I generally check messages here in the morning and afternoon, Monday - Friday, and respond as quickly as I can. If you prefer, you can also book a live session with me ahead of time.

I look forward to working with you!

Palm was an incredible help with my mental health and the way I viewed certain aspects of life, he made me feel very comfortable and open very quickly and he was always happy to change course or address a different topic if anything new or sudden needed to be talked about first. I’m looking forward to coming back eventually and picking up where we left off :)

Palm has been great to work with, he's a great guy that has a compassionate and logical perspective for working through my negative thoughts and behaviours. He likes me to work through my emotions and see what are the foundational thoughts that may be restricting me, and he helps tackle issues with awareness and acceptance of those thoughts. I always am free to voice my issues and Palm is very considerate of what I have to say, so. I couldn't recommend him enough! Thanks Palm!

Palm is a warm-hearted person and has provided a safe non-judgemental space for me to express and explore sad feelings. He has helped me understand what beliefs were underlying my negative thoughts and has guided me to find what I need to do to replace these beliefs. This has been incredibly helpful. He has also introduced me to mindfulness, which I have personally found to be a great way to check in with myself.
