She gives me a safe space to trauma dump and right now that's what I need. I know that we'll get to techniques and stuff but she's super understanding and I really appreciate it. I am not 100% sure what my core issue is yet and she gives me a space to just explore and I've never actually had that before. She's the best

Hi, My name is Mandy and I have been told I am a down to earth warm hearted person.

I mainly use the person-centred approach where the client is seen as the expert on themselves.

This I understand can seem challenging as often people want an expert to guide them or tell them what to do particularly if you are feeling lost and confused and not sure how to feel better.

What I love about this approach mainly created by Carl Rogers is that it makes a lot of sense to me.

His view is that everyone has the ability given the right conditions can grow and evolve as a person, feeling more aware, happy and able to cope better with life. when our mind is less turbulent and more relaxed we can see things from a clearer perspective.

I am sure we can all relate to this when things fall into place or we know just what to do.

I do understand though that when our mind is fixated on a negative thought process or stuck in dysfunctional habits it can seem very difficult to change this negative way of thinking, creating all kinds of issues such as anxiety, stress, anger, blocked emotions etc

This is where I come in.

using a compassionate approach to help you feel at ease, relaxed and safe, enables you to explore these painful feelings within the space of counselling.

Within the session, painful thoughts and feelings may arise this is normal they can also at times feel frozen or unpleasant I will help you find new ways to approach this. helping you learn to cope in daily life within yourself and your relationships with others. Hopefully, through your own experience, you can then see that these feelings can be worked through and understood without panic.

This allows you to finally understand yourself more and gain confidence in yourself. Learning how to take care of your inner well-being. This is such an important thing for everyone. We all need to learn to care for ourselves and be kind to ourselves.

Finding more peace within also can include mindfulness and meditation within a session to help bring more relaxation to your life. Creating an inner space for you.

We can do meditations which will be tailored to you and your life.

I have been teaching mindfulness meditation for 27 years in group workshops so I have a lot of experience.

As we work together un raveling all the dis-ease within your mind and inner world you should with time start to understand your triggers which could cause you to act out particular negative habits of behaviour. This can be so insightful like penny-dropping moments.

These moments are like drops of wisdom guiding you to a more healthy way of being for yourself and your life in general.

It’s normal to experience anxiety and feel nervous but try not to worry I am not here to judge you! I am here to listen with kindness.

Sessions last for 45 minutes and on the Better Help Online Platform, it is advised that you find a quite comfortable space where you will not be interrupted.

I will encourage you to talk about your feelings and emotions without judgment or criticism. There is no rush just at your own pace.

Questions can be helpful too to help you gain a deeper understanding of the issues important to you. This can include:

Relationships

Childhood

emotions thoughts

behaviours

Situations or events you have found difficult

What has brought you to counselling at this specific moment in your life

Finding out what your goals are for counselling and I will gently encourage you to be honest about your feelings.

Counselling can be a new life-changing journey, but it can also bring up our stuff!

Which may feel unpleasant at times.

It is helpful for you to hold realistic expectations of this process, particularly for the first session.

Therapy is not a quick fix!

However, it can be a great opportunity for you to understand yourself and can help them heal relationships let go of unpleasant feelings of anger and anxiety, and find more wisdom and clarity.

Hopefully, With time and patience, the discomfort and unpleasant feelings will become less and a more contented space can naturally arise.

If you feel counselling could help you then contact me on Better Help,

I am very approachable and happy to answer any questions.

Warm wishes Mandy.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Even if we have a very difficult or emotional topic she is trying to help me find something to feel good about at the end, so that I can enjoy the rest of the day/night . Mandy is an extremely empathetic person who sincerely immerses into one's contexts surfacing the underlying tensions and potentials. With her very broad and systemic experience as well as her respectful and supportive way, Mandy always asks the rights questions and succeeds in making you identify, accept, and challenge your traumas, dependencies, and tensions. Rooted in positive psychology and Buddhism, amongst other approaches, she helps derive effective reflections, thoughts, actions, and behaviors building on inner strengths, a positive mindset, and strong values. Within a very short time Mandy managed to successfully make me identify and work on many of my hidden motivations and drivers and thus make me develop and grow big time as a person. I became more resilient and reflected and could successfully and sustainably charge behavioral patterns, assumptions, expectations, and mindsets. I highly recommend her as a counselor as she is a great companion to becoming a better person.
