Kind, warm spirit. I get a lot from my time spent with Jaquetta.

Reviewed November 2024

Jaquetta is a gifted listener, & so warm. I felt very supported & seen during our sessions, as well as pushed to consider some of the roots & routes of my feelings (which is what I wanted). I feel lucky to have had time with her. She is smart, considerate, and non-judgmental, and was totally supportive of my decision to take time away from therapy to ruminate for a bit on what I’ve been learning & working on.

More about Jaquetta

  • 12 years' experience

My name is Jaquetta, I am a BACP accredited counselling psychotherapist with over 14 years of experience in practice. I am here to listen and support you through whatever it is you are struggling with at this time.

At the core of my practice are the philosophical approaches to psychotherapy of Person-Centred therapy, Existentialism and Gestalt continuing to add many more such as mindfulness, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) in the form of continuing professional development. This means that I have an integrated approach to best match your individual needs, one that provides compassionate understanding, does not preach or direct, respecting you for your unique way of being.

As we sit and talk together in the present moment, you will find the time and head-space to reflect and explore your innermost thoughts and feelings, be encouraged to be curious about them, from when they originated and how they may be affecting you in your life and relationships.

I believe that most of the time we have an innate ability to find our way through most of life's ups and downs, yet sometimes we get rocked and set off course by significant life events and/or traumas causing confusion, loss of confidence, leading on to anxiety, overwhelm and depression.

My job as I see it is to provide a secure base for your voice to be heard without any adverse judgement, and so to help you discover a greater understanding and acceptance of yourself, your innermost thoughts and feelings, so you can then find a new way forward in your life making any changes you choose to make that sets you fair for a more positive and happier experience of life.

My specialties include such issues as: • Anxiety and depression • Bereavement and loss • Adults who have experienced childhood trauma or abuse • Feelings of low self esteem / self worth or confidence • Relationship issues either at home or at work
