**Available for New Clients**

**About Me**

I am a qualified counsellor and hypno-psychotherapist, offering virtual face-to-face, telephone, and text therapy services. My focus is on helping both adults and young people navigate life’s challenges with empathy, respect, honesty, and care.

**Mission Statement**

My goal is to help you overcome adversity with compassion while keeping therapy affordable. I offer a free initial consultation, and reduced costs for those with lower incomes, as I believe support should be accessible to everyone.

I’ve been where you are now—facing a dark, uncertain place. A counsellor helped me understand my struggles, and that transformative experience inspired me to pay it forward by helping others. I’ve dedicated my life to learning how best to support *you*.

**How I Work**

In our sessions, I encourage you to bring whatever issues you're facing, while I draw upon a wide variety of therapeutic methods and approaches to guide you. My experience includes working with people from all walks of life, including individuals, couples, and groups.

I also specialize in working with young people aged 14 to 25, as well as adults, addressing a broad range of emotional and mental health issues.

**My Experience**

My counselling journey began in bereavement at Oldham Hospital, where I learned that loss can take many forms beyond the passing of a loved one—it can include losing one’s identity, job, or even a sense of purpose.

From there, I expanded into addiction counselling, which also brought in issues related to abuse, sexuality, self-image, anxiety, stress, and depression. Many of my clients have experienced trauma, and I help them process these difficult events and move forward.

I am continually updating my skills to stay current in young people’s counselling and safeguarding. The pressures young people face today—from academic success to the omnipresence of social media—are immense. I offer a safe space for them to explore these challenges without judgment.

**Specialties**

I’ve trained extensively in relationship counselling to assist individuals and couples in understanding their relationship dynamics, love languages, and patterns, helping them reconnect or move forward with clarity.

My recent studies include menopause, autism awareness, nutrition in social care, and children's mental health. My focus is always on continuous learning so I can offer the best possible support.

**Therapies Offered**

- Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CBT)

- Person-Centred Therapy

- Hypnotherapy (relaxation only on Better help)

- Transactional Analysis

- Motivational Interviewing (MI)

- Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

- Solution-Focused Therapy

**Qualifications**

I hold a variety of qualifications, including diplomas in counselling, hypnotherapy, child psychology, and safeguarding. My professional development is ongoing, ensuring that my methods are always relevant and up-to-date

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Jayne is an extremely kind and great person. I opened my self so easily to her, which I thought this could be impossible. She listens to you and brings out thin that you’ve never even questioned or realize that is happening.

Reviewed March 2024

Jayne has provided an incredibly supportive, understanding and safe space to address a very complex web of anxieties & fears and I've benefitted a huge amount from every session.

Jayne made me feel safe and comfortable right from the first session. She offers an empathetic ear with practical therapeutic advice as well that I can apply in my real life situations. She offers space for me to share and helps me see perspectives I’d never have considered before by validating my experience. And it all feels like an easy conversation which is great! Would absolutely recommend.

Jane has a lot of experience that’s why I chose her as my therapist. Jane is easy to speak to and I feel so comfortable to let all my vulnerabilities show. I can see myself growing through these sessions.

Highly recommend Jayne to anyone that is struggling with anxiety, relationship/communication trouble, and if you struggle with a lack of confidence. I came to Jayne struggling with anxiety and trouble in my relationship. She taught me lots of techniques to deal with my anxiety and tackling stressful situations. She also delved deeper into what made me anxious and why those things were making me anxious and again all sorts of techniques to manage these situations. We spoke about anger, self care, my thoughts, communication, better sleep and we set goals and challenges to help me overcome certain feelings and situations and even did a hypnotherapy session to build confidence. I honestly feel so much better about my anxiety now, I haven’t had a panic attack since starting my sessions with Jayne as I now know how to cope when these feelings come along. My relationship is so much happier as jayne helped me with communication techniques and I feel so much lighter and happier in general. Thankyou so much Jayne for all your help I am definitely a happier and more confident individual after our sessions together!

I have had four sessions with Jayne and I am happy to say she has helped me in so many ways already. She is understanding and relatable and listens to everything I have to say and helps me make positive steps to better myself. She does not judge in any way and has made me laugh countless times, which I really appreciate. She said herself "therapy doesn't have to be miserable" and she has made it a joy and I look forward to our sessions every week. I truly believe that the help Jayne has provided to me so far will change the way I treat myself for the better and ultimately will change my life.

I can't thank Jayne enough. I've had what felt like horrendous anxiety for as long as I can remember. In just a few sessions she's helped me to manage this in a practical way, but also see it in a completely new perspective, it's been such a revelation for me. Jayne has been supportive, honest and non-judgmental. She responds very thoughtfully to every message, I've found the messaging with her alongside the 1-1 sessions so helpful. I would absolutely recommend Jayne, and my only wish would be that I'd seen her sooner.

Reviewed May 2022
