Hello there!

I am a licensed independent social worker in the District of Columbia. I have 10 years of experience working with persons experiencing anticipatory grief, grief, loss and death and dying. Grief is something we learn to live with, not "get over with." There are so many complex emotions and feelings that accompany grief and loss- whether that be a loss of a loved one, job, dream, etc. I hope to help explore some of these emotions to assist you in understanding your grief and how you can honor and remember what was lost.

I value truly listening and building rapport with my clients. My style is warm, interactive and hopefully promotes growth and self- exploration. I believe in treating everyone with respect, compassion an empathy. My approach is a mix of cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, motivational interviewing and cultural sensitivity. I will modify our conversations based on your specific goals and needs.

I recognize the strength it takes to strive towards securing a more balanced and fulfilling life. Especially, the courage you exhibited by taking the first steps towards acknowledging and embracing the desire for change and growth. I am here to support, empower and accompany you on this journey!

Look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
