Very helpful and actually listens. I have had other therapists that suggest things that I would never actually do or try to tell me what I'm thinking. Sarah instead understood what I was saying and gave multiple logical things to do/ practice to help with my emotions.

It's only been about a month but I like how Sarah seems to really hear what I'm saying. She gives very good suggestions for things I can work on in between sessions.

More about Sarah

  • 7 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW

I was born and raised in the Tallahassee area. I received both my graduates degree and undergrad degree from Florida State University. My background is mostly working with women and children. I have a particular passion for women's issues and childhood trauma treatment. I believe that each client is the true expert on their counseling journey. I believe in a strength based approach which means every client has a natural strength that can be used to improve upon any situation. My goal is to help clients identify and utilize the skills they already possess. Therapy approaches I often use to achieve this goal are EMDR, CBT, motivational interviewing, etc. I also have a passion for expressive therapies (art, poetry, play) and use them in my practice regularly. I emphasize a judgement free clinical environment. As I often work with survivors of trauma, I begin by letting each client know there is no "wrong way" to survive. Clients can address any emotion or concern that comes to mind as no problem is "too big" or "too small" for my office. I will be there to listen with empathy, never look down with pity and join clients in their darkest moments to be a support to help them through.

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
