More about Elizabeth

  • 4 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPC

At this time, I'm scheduling in late evenings to accommodate parental duties and work schedules. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I've been working primarily with adolescent and adult survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse since 2015. I am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based modality developed specifically for reducing the effects of trauma. The effects of trauma can linger many years after the event, and I am ready to help you process the reminders of your past that still impact you, whether recent or long ago. Because of my work with survivors of trauma, I have also gained experience working with overcoming depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and attachment/intimacy fears.

I am a safe person for all people, including individuals on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum and those of diverse (or no) religious beliefs. I am a foster/adoptive parent and have extensive experience navigating the Texas foster care system as well as the additional parenting stressors unique to parenting children who've experienced trauma. I am familiar with Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), a parenting technique developed for raising children from hard places. Having spent all of my career in education and social services, I am familiar with preventing and addressing compassion fatigue/burnout. Some individuals may feel nervous or vulnerable when beginning counseling, so it's important to me to be a completely safe, non-judgmental, and affirming counselor who can handle hefty topics.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
