I would recommend Jessie as a therapist. She is a great listener and help give me some tools that I needed and have been lacking. She genuinely cares about people and it definitely shows. I would definitely say this has helped me during a hard time in my life when I needed a listening ear and someone to help with some ideas to help me cope. 5 stars

More about Jessie

  • 9 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW

I am an LCSW with over 9 years of clinical practice in the State of Oregon. My experience varies from working with individuals with severe mental illness in an intensive community stabilization program, crisis intervention, children, families and Veterans. I have additional certified training in adult and child ADHD, Severe and Persistent Mental Illness, and LGBTQIA issues.

Working through the pandemic has shown the difficulties people are experiencing, whether it be grief and the loss of loved ones or relationships, isolation, changes in environment, or increased anxiety or depression. We may find that our previous methods of coping may not be as useful as in previous times. Our world and our environments may have significantly changed and that can be overwhelming to maneuver at times. Providing a safe space for people to process such emotions or feelings is very important to me. My approach to therapy is empowering, cognitive, and client centered. I am your partner in recovery, and together we will find the best style of coping or processing that works for you. In addition, I will always strive to understand and respect your race, gender, religion, or any other identifying factor that may be important in your therapeutic approach.

Lastly, I strongly believe that progress in therapy starts with respect and rapport building to strengthen trust in the therapeutic relationship. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy and client centered therapy in my practice, or an integration of several of the different modalities, depending on your treatment goals.

Congratulations on making the step toward improved mental health and wellbeing. Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to hearing from you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
