More about Wendy

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 6 years experience treating addictions in the state of Idaho. I graduated from the University of Idaho with a masters in Rehabilitation Counseling and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensed by the Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses (LPC#6747), and a Licensed Social Worker (LSW# 24010). I am a member of the American Counseling Association and abide by both the Idaho Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists and the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics.

I have 13 years experience as a first responder, 10 years experience with the child welfare system, LGBTQ+ clients, and most recently, working with those suffering from addictions. Starting counseling is a major decision and I strongly believe you should feel comfortable with the therapist you choose and hopeful about therapy. As a counselor, I am committed to serving clients by partnering with them in working towards healthy change, development, and growth. This will involve exploring thoughts, feelings and behaviors and taking action to achieve positive change.

My therapeutic approach is client centered and compassionate. I incorporate a variety of evidence based treatment modalities tailored to meet your therapeutic needs. The types of therapy I offer include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Problem-Solving, Acceptance-Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. I view therapy as a partnership between counselor and client and look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Wendy has really made me feel listened to and respected. I was very skeptical to start therapy and worried that I was not going to mesh well with a therapist, but the second Wendy and I started talking I knew I made the right decision. I am very thankful to have her expertise and insight!
