More about Angie

  • 5 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPC

I am a licensed professional counselor and am in my fifth year as a counselor, however, I have worked in the mental healthcare field since 2009. Prior to becoming a counselor, I worked with kids, adults, and families that needed help with behavior modification. I have a masters degree in psychology and a masters in counseling.

I graduated with an emphasis on trauma, grief, and crisis counseling. I have a lot of experience working with depression, anxiety, panic, agoraphobia, and trauma. I use a lot of cognitive behavioral therapy but I also think the mindfulness approach is very effective. I’m also very client-centered. I am a Veteran and enjoy working with other vets.

I have a quiet voice and am very empathetic although I can also be tough without being pushy. I look forward to meeting every unique individual and doing my best to help with what may be troubling them.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Angie is fantastic at finding ways to explain things to me when I'm not getting it the first time, she doesn't make me feel like a nuisance for not knowing where to start besides asking for help. She's always very direct with answers to questions I have and I personally like that she can tell me when my brain is interpreting information in an unhealthy or otherwise unhelpful manner. She offers full support without coddling

Angie is kind, smart and genuine. She is gentle but firm in her support and advice. She listens fully and responds with compassion. I highly respect her expertise and value her opinions as she has experienced many similar things so she can speak to them from those experiences. She never makes you feel invalidated or uncomfortable. Her experience as a veteran also gives me a high level of respect for what she’s sacrificed for our country. I would I highly recommend Angie to anyone, any age who’s going through any kind of grief, anxiety or personal trauma.
