More about Susan

  • 10 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPC

I am a counselor with 13 years of experience in Colorado. I have worked as a school based therapist providing therapy to students for about one year. I have also worked in a medical setting delivering behavioral healthcare to patients for over 3 years. I now work in a practice with other counselors providing therapy and supporting families experiencing poverty and mental health issues.

I love working with teens and adults providing person centered therapy. All of my clients guide their own process. I strongly emphasize autonomy in every aspect of one's life. I have worked with clients from all walks of life and find value in every facet of their story. I work comprehensively with trauma, depression, and other anxiety disorders. I have educated a great deal of my clients on what healthy relationships look like and if they are in an unhealthy relationship. I provide education and support around co-dependency.

My name is Susan Simianer and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado. I live in a small town with my husband and my chocolate lab Izzy. My kids come home and visit often. They are in college in Grand Junction and were teens not too long ago. I used to live in Denver, so I understand living in cities and rural areas very well. I obtained my master's from Adams State University in 2013. I have been in practice for over 13 years working with adults, children of every age, and families.

My sincere hope is to be able you to become more resilient and sustain and/ or create healthy relationships with those you care about. Helping you identify your values, strengths, hopes and dreams, and gaining skills to help navigate this world with more confidence.

I would love to hear more about your goals and how I can be of help. I look forward to meeting you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
