If you are experiencing anxiety, depression, social isolation, relationship issues, or just general life dissatisfaction, I can help you to get your life back on track. My online counseling approach is for anyone ready to make changes in their lives, but especially for those at a crossroads, facing a difficult challenge, or who have become frustrated realizing that past approaches no longer work.

I offer new ways for improving your resilience and reaching your goals using behavioral psychology, habit formation, and performance improvement. For some, this may involve exploring patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviors that get in the way, while others may benefit from a more solution-oriented approach that works to identify specific goals and how to reach them.

Professional Background

I graduated with a Masters Degree in Counseling in 1999. As a Licensed Professional Counselor I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing group and individual therapy. In 2014 I shifted my approach to a Positive Psychology and Wellness Model, after realizing the limitations of symptom/illness-based approaches used in most mental health facilities. Since that time I have expanded my training and practice, drawing from several disciplines such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Positive Psychology as well as Optimize Coaching and Recovery Coaching.

Working togther we will create the changes you want to see in 5 steps:

1. Looking at where you are and where you want to be

2. Creating the motivation, optimism and vision to get what you really want

3. Exploring the possibilities, making preparations and planning for the outcomes

4. Commit to making changes, big or small

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Working with Dan the last few months has been great, I look forward to our weekly discussions. At first I had difficulty finding a therapist who was responsive and genuinely seemed interested in helping and was close to giving up. So starting off with Dan I was very skeptical and reserved but he did not take it personally and was approachable and professional. He's helped with issues I've had for years and not only taught me how to deal with them but to improve them. I do not give a recommendation lightly but I wholeheartedly 100% recommend Mr Kimball. Instead of telling me an answer he ask questions to help me arrive to it on my own. He truly goes the extra mile to show he truly wants to help and genuinely cares. After a decade of depression and anxiety to even feel like I can believe in myself and like being me is something I thought not possible. I'm forever grateful.
