Welcome to Better Help! You've taken a huge step, and I'm sure you're wondering how this works and whether it's the right fit for you.
My name is Vickie McDaniel, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Oklahoma. I am also a Licensed Independent Social Worker for the state of South Carolina. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2011. I've worked in many different settings with individuals and families who have a variety of personal issues such as depression/anxiety, stress, family problems, trauma/abuse, eating disorders, relationships/parenting and the grief and loss of people or of their pet. As a clinician, my experience has taught me that the most important aspect of counseling by far is the connection and comfort you feel with the person you choose to share your personal struggles. I believe we can all grow through challenging experiences by increasing our self-awareness, self-esteem, positive thinking, and problem solving techniques. Sometimes another person, one who isn't in our immediate circle, can offer a perspective or additional support, that gives us movement on a difficult situation when we feel stuck. It would be my privilege to be that person for you. We all want to be able to share our personal truths and be accepted and understood. I believe it's very important to be open-minded and non-judgmental when someone shares their personal story or experiences with me. Our relationship with our self and others has worth and is useful to explore in counseling.
You are welcome to message me anytime through Better Help. The frequency with which you can have access to a counselor to work through day to day emotions and problem solving is extremely beneficial for most and a nice change from traditional outpatient counseling. I usually check messages twice each day, seven days per week. I offer messaging, live chat and phone sessions with limited availability in the evenings and weekends. Please note that what you see in my calendar may not reflect my only availability so you always want to check with me through messaging first.
I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Vickie is understanding and easy to talk to!
Vickie and I haven't been working together for very long yet. Only about a week or so. However I am pleased with her knowledge and expertise and I am confident she will be able to help me reach my therapy goals.
She is so kind and understanding! I feel like she really listens to me and empathizes with my struggles.
She is great
Vickie is so helpful and so easy to talk to, like talking to a friend. It’s still very early in my therapy journey, and it’s always been difficult for me to talk about feelings and my personal life. Vickie has been very patient and doesn’t pressure me if I’m uncomfortable. She’s great at showing me different ways of looking at situations that I never would have considered before. I’m confident that I’m going to have a lot of success working with her!
Vickie has been there for me through lots of different challenges and transitions over the last year. She supports me but challenges me when I need it. I never feel judged when I’m talking to her, and I feel like she just gets me! I’m so glad we were matched together!
Vickie has been my therapist for almost a year now. I continue to be impressed by her efficacy and professionalism
Vickie Listens. She makes me feel heard and validates my feelings. I'm so thankful to have been matched with her!
Vickie is the best, she listens to me and understand my fears and concerns. I so greatly appreciate her.
I love that Mrs.McDaniel is my therapist. She really listens to me and addresses my concerns.
Had low expectations for doing therapy for the first time, and she set the bar insanely high for anyone that may follow.
Vickie, is a kind listener who really hears you. I get the feeling that she is interested in my story and invested in my success, which hasn’t always been my experience with therapist over the years. I enjoy her hands on approach, she will share her professional opinion as a guide into helping you create your own active plan… Hard to put into words but a couple of sessions with Vickie and I am confident you will understand and agree. Highly recommend her.
She’s alway sweet, understanding, and supportive.
Vickie is professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and an absolute pleasure to work with. She plainly understands her job and has been instrumental in helping me on my mental health journey. I couldn't be happier to have been matched with her through betterhelp

Although we have just begun on this journey! I look forward to my sessions as I’m eager to learn & obtain the necessary tools to overcome my problem. Mrs. Vicky is a great listener and has been very compassionate.
Vickie has made it easy for me to feel ok about being open. I was very nervous to start therapy and she has made this a wonderful experience. I’m so glad I was matched with her!!
Mrs.McDaniel is very compassionate and understanding.
I've been working with Vickie for a couple of months and she is absolutely wonderful! She is a great listener and has provided such a wonderfully safe space for me.
Vickie really listens
I value Vickie's advice and look forward to our sessions more than my in person therapist.
First therapist I signed up with on here did not make me feel great. Meaning I sent the first introductory message with questions and just got back a "I look forward to speaking with you". Vickie, on the other hand, had fantastic introductory questionnaires that really made me feel like we could hit the ground running with our first call. She was also very quick to respond to messages. Fantastic.
Great lady! She is kind, caring and listens! She has helped me tremendously in my life <3
