Hello! Erwin McIntosh III here, but please call me "Mac." I have been in the helping profession for ten years now. I started out as a qualified mental health specialist and after getting my Master's Degree in Counseling Education, I obtained my License in Professional Counseling in the state of Ohio in 2015. In January of 2021, I became a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio which means that I became an independent counselor.

I have worked with a many Clients in a variety of settings including adults in nursing homes, residential homes, and parents of school aged children. I apply motivational interviewing as a foundation for the integration therapy that I utilize to help Clients heal using Person-Centered approach, explore their choices to improve them using Reality Therapy, examine their self-view to improve self-esteem using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and finally address the need to develop peace, mindfulness, and acceptance using Peace and Mindfulness techniques.

By helping the Client heal from trauma, we open the door to new positive thoughts, a new positive mood, and a new outlook which leads to new positive choices. You learn that there is more to your life than the trauma you endured which leads to more balanced self-view and world view. Decisions can now be made from a broader framework based on hope, not pain from a past left behind physically but not mentally or emotionally. "We have to let go of what was, to enjoy what is." "We can't accept new love, if we are clutching to old pain." If you will permit me, I will use empathic listening, motivational interviewing, and integration therapy to help you heal and learn to love yourself.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I’ve been working with Mac for a few weeks now and I am having a great experience! I appreciate that I feel like he is actually listening to me. He listens in a way that is encouraging and he does a great job of acknowledging and supporting the positive decisions I’m making regarding my mental health. I also love that he sends a summary of what we discussed after our sessions and supporting information. We just started but I am excited about the progress that I will be making
