More about Rachel

  • 3 years' experience

I have been working with people in a social work setting for about ten years but have only had my Master's Degree in Social work for three years. My counseling approach is about honesty. I use compassion, respect and empathy to build a relationship and help clients reach their therapy goals. I have knowledge of most evidence based therapy approaches but do not have one expertise. I believe that evidence based therapy is helpful but everyone client is different therefore I work with the client to decide on therapy modalities.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
