More about Kathryn

  • 25 years' experience
  • Female
  • LICSW

I am an independent, licensed, clinical social worker with over 25 years of practice. I am based in Massachusetts and have been in New England for my whole career. I have a wide range of professional experiences. Early in my career, I focused primarily in mental health, trauma and eating disorders. In more recent years, my work has been around grief, loss and breavement. I am able to work well with many age ranges including young adults, middle-age and the elderly.

My work is client-centered and I am warm and supportive. I am a good listener and like to reflect back the issues and strengths that are present. I also have an ability to understand the bigger picture and help clients to shift their perspective. I know that creating coping skills is important and having concrete tools can be essential. I work with clients to have a better understanding and connection to themselves and their own inner guidance.

I also have a background in healing modalities and use my skills in meditation and breathwork when it is helpful. My style is eclectic and I enjoy pulling from my skill set whatever aspects are most helpful for the client.

I get great joy from helping people to feel better! If you feel I would be a good therapist for you at this time, please contact me here.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
