Hello, I am Dr. Christian Straube, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), in the state of Illinois. and Early Intervention provider. During my 28 years of clinical experience I have had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful clients. My areas of specialty include working with individuals with Autism, ADHD, depression, anxiety, anger management, challenging behaviors and general life concerns that we all have. I believe that my lifelong personal experiences have made me a better counselor.

My therapeutic approach is pretty straightforward, through cognitive-behavior therapy and reality based counseling I focus on skill building to help adults through the everyday struggles we cope with. Through careful analysis of your background and present life experiences we tailor a treatment plan that fits your needs.

Having also worked with hundreds of children and adolescents, I am in the unique position of providing concrete, successful, creative parenting strategies to those caregivers seeking support. While the sessions are on-line, I email information and handouts that caregivers can easily use to help their children.

I am an avid sports fan (Go Badgers) and love to spend time walking my dogs with my wife and daughter. I enjoy running, meditation and golf on a regular basis to reduce stress and keep me focused.

Thank you for reading my profile. It takes strength to seek a more fulfilling and happier life. I am here to listen, support and encourage you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
