I am so, so thankful to have been matched with Elizabeth!! Just in my first few weeks working with her, I feel I have gained a much deeper understanding of my anxiety and how to live more productively alongside it. I am beyond grateful for her expertise and guidance!

Elizabeth helped me regain my confidence and sense of self worth when I was in a dark place. She helped me learn how to control my anxiety in a healthy way. I feel more positive about my life moving forward thanks to her, and I'm no longer cycling on the grief I was experiencing. Elizabeth really knows her stuff and is incredibly responsive. She goes above and beyond any preconceptions I had with therapy. I know she will continue to help people because she helped me better than I ever would have thought. Thanks Elizabeth!

Hi, my name is Elizabeth Cook and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker licensed in the state of Alabama. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Belmont University in Nashville, TN and my Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama. I have spent the majority of my experience working with individuals (ages 21+) and families struggling with grief and loss through both outpatient and inpatient hospice care settings. Through my work I have helped individuals navigate caregiver issues in addition to the stress that accompanies aging and life transitions. Prior to this work I served in homes as a child behavioral counselor.

My approach to therapy is client focused and strengths based. I believe that providing active/reflective listening can normalize feelings and help individuals see their own potential, empowering them to make lasting change. By using solution focused therapy in addition to cognitive behavioral techniques, it is my hope that my clients leave therapy feeling confident in their ability to recognize and advocate for their needs.

I look forward to getting to know you as we work together!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
