The concept of therapy can be intimidating... My goal is to make it comfortable for you to discuss your situations by providing an honest, non-judgmental atmosphere, while offering support and validation. Throughout my career, I have helped individuals cope with stress, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, as well as grief and loss, problems within family systems and relationships, and trauma-related issues. I have helped individuals dealing with addiction and substance abuse, and have also helped young adults in higher education transition to new environments and social settings.

I use treatment models that focus on how our thoughts and emotions impact our behaviors, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These models are recognized as being highly effective for treating stress, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse/addiction issues. I am also a trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, utilizing this model to treat trauma/PTSD. EMDR is a less-invasive model that empowers and heals.

In addition to receiving an MSW, I also received a B.A. in Theology, helping me to better understand the role spirituality may play in our lives. I respect the connection between our mind, body, and spirit, and have a holistic approach to wellness.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
