Are you ready to see your light shine again? I know we have experienced several stressors over the past few years due in the most part to Covid-19. If the stress has become unmanageable or you just need someone to listen and validate your concerns without judgement then, I would love to work with you.

Hi, my name is Heather. I have three children, a step-daughter, a grandson, and three fur babies that rule my home. I enjoy spending time with my family, learning and experiencing new things. I have a BA in psychology from UNCG , a Masters degree in clinical counseling from Liberty University, and I am licensed in the state of North Carolina as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate. My approach to therapy is eclectic as I like to take from theologies. I am proficient in motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy and various others so that I can develop a strategy that will work to help individualize each clients experience.

I have worked with clients in various settings from hospitals, telephone, outpatient clinics, and virtual. I would love to work with clients that are ready make a change in their life so they can see the light in your life again.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Heather is kind and compassionate and has helped me so much already. My past traumas used to hold such dominion over me and now I can look back without the feelings associated and I don't spiral anymore. We are still working through my many other issues but I'm surprised how far I've come so quickly with her help and expertise.

Where have you been all my life?! I have never had a therapist that guides me and sets exercises that can be measured and discussed. Having a clear outline of solutions and goals is so powerful when my head is swimming with a thousand thoughts. Heather is patient, understanding and offers perspective, but also laughs at my dark humour. I don’t know what to say but she just seems to get it. And it seems like we’re tackling a task together, like she’s showing me the ropes and I’m finally getting out of this self pity party.
