Feeling overwhelmed, stuck in a routine, confused, drained, disconnected, and desiring it all to be different?

My approach is simple, I want to create a space where you feel comfortable to explore, discover, and embrace your authentic self. My job is to be present, validating, and provide an alternative way to look at your experiences and feel empowered, seen, and confident as you live your story.

My background as an LCSW ranges from working with individuals, families, caregivers, and groups. I've worked with individuals whose age range from young children to young adulthood living with chronic medical conditions and working through the frustration, grief, and toll it takes. I also have experience working with the parents and caregivers of those living with chronic diagnosis and the emotional strain it can cause. In addition to chronic diagnosis, I have extensive experience working with individuals and groups who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship strain, family dynamic issues, life direction challenges, living with or caring for someone with autism, involvement with child protection/human services, LGBTQ+ questions/and or need, faith and religious questions and/or needs.

I draw from therapy models such as cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, attachment therapy, narrative therapy, interpersonal therapy, client-centered therapy, solution-focussed therapy, and experiential therapy. I am trained in mindfulness and breath work, and have been certified in the Strengthening Families Model. I will take time getting to know you and hearing you in order to draw from these models and provide appropriate support based on what you are wanting to gain from our time together.

I'm honored to take the time you deserve discovering how you can live your life authentically!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Ms. Josey is really good and this, and she has exceeded my expectations in every way. She is knowledgeable with regard to the approach to therapy that we agreed to work on (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with some coaching), she's a good listener, and she takes her work seriously. I never feel like she's just "going through the motions," in part because she often sends me follow up thoughts from the session, and she checks in from time to time. When I have questions outside of session, she responds quickly. I think she's great, and I recommend her.

Kate does a good job of receiving the conversation without bias, and with a level of curious that enables self-reflection and also makes room for patience. As a black man, I felt that I could speak in a safe space without prejudice or a feeling that I was being “talked at.”

Kate does a great job showing empathy and curiosity in our sessions. I was a bit hesitant about working with her seeing as we come from vastly different backgrounds, however, she has allowed me to feel we have a safe space in our short time together.

Reviewed December 2021

Kate is a lovely, professional person. Her profile detailing her experience is what originally impressed me and made me feel like I was going to be in good hands. I’m so grateful to say that it was true. She is insightful and asks all the right questions. I feel heard and validated by her, and I love her takeaway questions and homework. From only two sessions, I’ve already felt a difference in how I’ve interpreted my emotions and actions. She’s a light and I would recommend her to anyone.
