Two things are true of every single session I have with Wendy: I get way more out of the time than I could have anticipated, and I end the session feeling lighter. Wendy is an exceptional listener, uniquely insightful and genuinely empathetic. I would recommend Wendy to absolutely anyone.

Wendy is exceptional! She is keen on picking up subtleties in my speech over the phone to discern how I am feeling towards a situation. She is extremely intuitive and helpful with supporting my experience as well as seeing multiple sides of situations. By far the best person I’ve been able to speak with in therapy; which is helping me more than I can express verbally.

More about Wendy

  • 25 years' experience

Welcome to BetterHelp! My name is Wendy, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been practicing in private practice and school settings for over 25 years. I have expertise in Collaborative Problem Solving, CBT and DBT, and solution focused therapy modalities.

Finding a therapist is often as much about the "match" as it is about the skill and experience of the clinician. With over 20 years of experience in the field of helping others, I have found that trusting, genuine connections are an essential base for change to occur. I carefully and compassionately listen to what you have to say, and partner with you to help you achieve the changes you are looking for. I believe that you are the author of your story; my role may be to offer different perspectives, or to be a sounding board, or to provide support as you work through a certain "chapter." Together, we determine the work you'd like to do and the best way to make that happen.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
