More about John

My name is John Thomas McRee. I am 62 years old and have been counseling individuals and groups for most of my life. I became licensed professionally almost 20 years ago. I became Independently credentialed in mental health and telemental health to open my own private counseling business in Grenada, MS. I have enjoyed working with the world's most extensive online counseling service, BetterHelp, and plan on remaining with them for many more years. I believe online Telemental Health is perfect, and it is much easier for you to avoid traveling to a clinic or an office. My methodology is simple: Talk Therapy, where I collaborate with individuals over various concerns and needs presented to me. The basic form of therapy/Counseling I use is taken from evidence-based practices and proven techniques from the experts and founders of the therapies and theories in Counseling. CACREP, the Counsel for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, carefully and thoroughly monitored the training I received. After obtaining a Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling, I was supervised for two years by the Mississippi Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors to get a professional license in Counseling. I have worked in Mental Health treatment clinics, Crisis Stabilization centers, and at a local Hospital to experience the many facets of Mental Health to get the experience and knowledge I bring and share with those who desire it. I am both eclectic and flexible, hoping to maintain a comfortable and practical atmosphere that is both pleasing and efficient

John is great! He gave me an extra hour of counseling when I needed it. Gave me really good advice that I genuinely considered and tried to implement more into my life. I have to thank God for John McRee. It's important to speak with believers of the same faith. John is a Christian man, believer in Jesus Christ, Counselor and Therapist. One of Gods best! I was in shambles. Jesus guided me to John and with John helped me through the turmoil and back into Jesus' light, stronger faith, hope and love. Thank you Jesus! Thank you John for answering the call, from Jesus and from me.

John is an incredible, down to earth and straight forward guy! Isn’t afraid to say it how it is, asks the real questions, but also is calm, collected and caring when push comes to shove. Really enjoying my time working with him and the building blocks we’ve put in place.

Reviewed November 2021

John McRee is an excellent listener. He is very meticulous and caring. He takes notes of all what a patient has to say, reviews them and addresses every point carefully. He also revises all points covered/raised during the session before he closes up to make sure all concerns were addressed. He is a genuine person. I highly recommend him. I made (LEAPS) towards healing with him.
