More about David

  • 22 years' experience
  • Male
  • LCPC, LCMHC

My name is David Rice and I want to first say that because you are here you are already on the path to healing. My profession as a therapist is one that I take very seriously because I know that people are valuable, their lives are precious, and joy and contentment should be in each and every one of us.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor located in Idaho. I have twenty years experience providing clinical support to a diverse population over that amount of time. In 2001 I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Counseling from Adams State University, Alamosa, Colorado. I am also a National Certified Counselor. I have worked with all age groups and have experience working with a wide range of presenting issues including relationship conflicts, self image, grief and loss, trauma, motivation and anxiety.

I would describe my approach as client-centered and solution-focused. I provide a compassionate, empathetic style, while also empowering and challenging clients to be their best selves. I use an integrated approach with clients, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution focused therapy, Client-Centered Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior therapy. I encourage clients to set realistic goals and objectives throughout the therapy process and I am committed to joining, supporting, and encouraging my clients in that process.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
