  • LMHC

Dawn has been a licensed therapist for five years and has a positive and energetic approach to therapy. She has spent the past twenty years working with individuals and families suffering from severe mental illness and/or addiction providing education, training, resources, and support on their individual journeys towards mental wellness. Part of this support included assisting with goal-setting; to help individuals realize their dreams and make positive lifestyle changes that benefit their overall health and well-being.

Dawn has spent a considerable amount of time working within local communities providing therapy and mental health support to children, adults, and the geriatric population. While her current focus is on the adult population, she believes all people can benefit from therapeutic support to help them get to new perspectives in life in a different light.

Dawn received a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Healthcare from the University of South Florida, Tampa Florida and obtained a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, Minneapolis Minnesota. In her free time, she loves interacting with her rescued pitbulls Fred and Wilma and enjoys taking them on road trips as she travels, explores, and documents her adventures. Additional hobbies and interests include but are not limited to: tattoos, spirituality, ax throwing, cryotherapy, listening to music with the car windows down and singing along as loud as you can, sharing my knowledge with others, and enjoying my journey.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Dawn is absolutely amazing and so validating. Honestly, people like Dawn are why therapy works. You can tell that she truly is in this career choice for good reasons. You can tell that she just truly wants to help others. She wants to show them that any cycle that they’re in can be changed if that’s what they desire. She wants to show people that they are cared for. She wants people to know that they’re not alone and that how they feel makes perfect sense. I have never had a counselor that I felt I could say something to, and be assessed and spoke to without ANY negative judgment. I know I could tell her anything and she would listen calmly, let me tell my piece, and then when the timing was right, she’d be so validating. So trustable, dependable, reliable, caring, sweet, and thoughtful. After every meeting each week, I get homework or things to watch/read that relate to what I’m going through. She truly puts effort and time into what she sends clients. She’s one of those one in a hundred—maybe even one in a thousand. I wasn’t paid for this review… if you’re looking for a new counselor, don’t hesitate, and choose Dawn.. for real

Dawn is very friendly. In our first session, I immediately felt like I could trust her and felt comfortable with her. I’ve been in therapy before and was always shy in the beginning.

Reviewed November 2021

Dawn is such an understanding person. When I first started therapy, I did not think I can possibly feel comfortable enough to open up to a complete stranger via text, email, phone and video but Dawn has changed the game. I have only been in therapy with her for a little under a month and already feel like I am working towards a better me. Thank you so much for all that you do Dawn !

Reviewed November 2021

Dawn has been so proactive in my treatment, more so than any other healthcare professional I’ve come across. She has been a great stepping stone for my healing journey.

Reviewed November 2021

Dawn is human first and for most. I wanted someone who would not nod and sit quietly and she is interactive and understand and kind but still human. She told me something that sucked sucked and it’s all I wanted to hear. I’m already in a better place because of her.

Reviewed November 2021

I just love Dawn. She is so warm but yet professional. She is everything I would expect a counselor to be. (this is my first experience with a counselor ) She shares just enough of herself to help me understand more of where she is coming from and it helps to know that she has a frame of reference for me. I highly, highly recommend Dawn!
