More about Mary

  • 13 years' experience

I am a licensed social worker working in Alabama with 11 years experience working as a therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including: depression, anxiety, anger management, life transitions, and parenting difficulties. I also have experience with various mental health and behavioral disorders.

My counseling style is warm and adaptive. I believe in meeting every client where they are and addressing their greatest concerns. I believe it is most important to treat symptoms and underlying sources that can be contributing to those symptoms. My approach combines focusing on and finding strengths to combine with cognitive-behavioral techniques. I will be sure to tailor your treatment plan to meet you where you are!

It take a great deal of strength to reach out for help to improve your quality of life. If you are ready for that step, I am here to help empower you in the process.

I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
