My name is Katie Potts, LMSW. I have a Masters degree in Social Work from Wayne State University, in Detroit. I got my MSW in 2004. I have experience working with individuals and couples struggling with negative self-talk, low self-esteem, mood instability, substance use, challenging irrational beliefs and paranoia, anxiety, history of trauma, eating disorders, addiction and codependency in family systems and individuals that identify as Adult Children of Alcoholics. I also have experience working with people struggling with issues related to grief and loss. I have worked extensively with individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and have co-facilitated a DBT group. Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Katherine was an extremely understanding and accommodating therapist. She did everything she could to continue sessions with me even when our schedules no longer lined up, and was a lovely person to speak with. She is compassionate and a very good listener, understanding that sometimes people need to vent or just word vomit as part of their therapy.
