More about Carol

  • 20 years' experience
  • Female
  • Psychologist, LMFT

For over twenty years I have worked with numerous populations. I received my education in California and then interned at a homeless shelter, with a license psychologist, at a counseling center and then at a Developmental Disabilities State Hospital. I took on every case available to me in order to round out my experience. I have worked with families and individuals in the areas of domestic abuse, family issues, childhood issues, and substance abuse issues. I then spent several years working for two Developmental Centers focusing on developmental disabilities such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorders and forensic issues. I provided expert testimony for recommitment hearings and competency training. Since leaving California, I have volunteers on the Critical Incident Stress Management team for a fire department, mentored with women coming out of prison, and served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. My volunteer work focused mainly on Trauma and Suicidality.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Dr. Carol Gandolfo: talented therapist, dedicated Christian, compassionate and gracious person. She has been very helpful to me. Missing the illusion some therapists fall prey to… crediting themselves with ability to understand so much more about your life than you ever possibly could. By contrast, Carol displays an attitude which respectfully presumes that I know myself better than she possibly could and asks probing questions to achieve a greater understanding. She recalls what I’ve told her and takes notes when it’s some thing noteworthy, which assists me in viewing it as an important feeling or event. Perhaps most productive are the logical, reasonable suggestions we collaboratively conclude I could implement within the following week. Often Carol will inquire about that issue. I am deeply grateful that my son gave me this gift of therapy as it has helped me to overcome certain hurdles as I work diligently to attain a healthy outlook towards my life and circumstances.
