Hello, and welcome. My name is Monique Rourk, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Here is a bit of information about me and my counseling style. I am a very relaxed and flexible. I have been told that I am very down to earth, caring, and easy to talk to. I would describe my counseling style as compassionate, empathetic, non-judgmental, and meeting you where you are at. Our sessions are relaxed and focused on your goals. You are an active participant in identifying therapy goals and choosing options on how to address them. Depending on your needs, therapy can be more of talk therapy, sharing and processing thoughts and feelings. It could also incorporate solution skill-based focused. We talk about options and come up with a plan together that will meet your needs.
My goal is to assist each individual to develop a rational philosophy of life that will reduce emotional distress and self-defeating behaviors, thus resulting in the ability to be happier and live more fulfilling lives. monique is a great listener and doesnt make your sessions feel too clinical, ive had therapists in the past that would feel like they were following the basic "and how does that make you feel" script for everything you brought up. she makes sessions feel like talking to a friend and i immediately felt i could trust her from day one
