I am an individual and family counselor licensed in the state of Missouri. I have over 15 years of experience as a clinical therapist in both inpatient and outpatient settings along with treating both adolescents and adults. Over the years I have worked with individuals, both adolescents and adults, with a wide variety of struggles including depression, anxiety, behavior modification, relationship issues, and anger management just to name a few.
My counseling style is welcoming and adaptive. I strive to treat individuals with respect, compassion, and a holistic approach without judgment or bias. I may not always tell you what you want to hear, but will always remain committed to telling you what you need to hear. I will always work to have our communication and treatment expectations adapt to you as an individual and your specific needs.

I had no idea when going into therapy that I’d stick at it for as long as I did, and I definitely didn’t know that it was capable of having the impact that it did. I’ve tried therapy 3 times before I started with Better Help and CJ, and nothing changed. I have absolutely no idea how he did it, but CJ has helped me become myself. I can’t say again because I don’t think I’ve ever, in all my life, been as content with who I am as I am now. Things that I thought were normal for everyone, and wrong with me, actually weren’t wrong with me at all. I’ve come to terms with who I am. It turned out that what I initially though was “wrong” with how I thought and felt wasn’t the problem at all. It was a result of many other ways I’d been thinking and feeling. And that may sound cliche, but when you’ve spent you’re whole entire life believing you’re someone else, and living in the only way you know how to; you believe that being better and being content just isn’t for you. It’s for other people, people who haven’t made the same mistakes as you, people who are less “crazy” than you. But it’s not true. I have already told many people about my experience with CJ, and I truly believe in therapy now. I believe that when you find the right therapist, who respects you and you click with, it will change your life. I could say so much about my experience, but it wouldn’t do it justice. I was extremely dubious about starting therapy in general, let alone alone via an app. I went to start with BetterHelp 3 times and backed out, until one day I knew I had no other choice than to seek help. I was quickly matched with CJ and honestly at first, I had no expectations whatsoever. I'd left therapy feeling very let down in the past, so I was somehow expecting to feel the same this time around too. However, after my first session with CJ I knew that I had been matched to the best fit for me. He takes an extremely positive, open-minded and supportive approach and tells you what you need to hear whilst taking your own character into consideration. In just three sessions I've realised so much more about myself and opened up about so much more than I have ever done before. I've gone through three months of therapy in the past and not even got close to this many promising realisations and conclusions. Some things have been really hard for me to say, and I think they're things I never thought I'd say out loud, as previously I still felt as though my therapists would judge me. This time, however, I knew I wouldn't be judged, and I wasn't. I never thought I'd laugh about the way I feel, or that I could even see "my issues" in a positive light. I find it extremely easy to take on board what he's saying and I feel he's taking me in a very positive direction. Thank you CJ!
