I didn’t think I could ever attend therapy. And then I tried and met Shannon and don’t think I could ever work with a different therapist. She’s amazing at what she does.

Are you tired of the typical run of the mill recovery program? Do you want an alternative to AA/NA directed recovery or are you looking to supplement your AA/NA recovery program? If yes then I am your match!

I am the most open minded therapist you will meet. I know how much strength and courage it takes to reach out for help because I myself was once like you. I know how it feels to reveal your vulnerabilities to a complete stranger; and I am living proof that therapy works.

My name is Shannon Gaiser MA, LPC, CAADC, CDDAP and have been a practicing therapist since 2004. I have 17 years of experience with specialties in addiction and co-occuring disorders. I am in recovery from opiate addiction and can understand the special needs of these clients. I practice using client centered, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques. I am open to alternatives to the traditional recovery programs including medication assisted treatment and medical marijuana treatment. I believe everyone's path to a better life is individual.

I have worked 9 years in inpatient/outpatient rehabs and 8 years as a private practice therapist for a suboxone doctor. I have experience with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, bi-polar d/p, sexual abuse issues and trauma. My experiences have also lead me to work with family recovery to help promote healthy boundaries. I am available for texts, video, and voice sessions. I typically will respond to messages within 5 hours, but could be longer on weekends.

It would be my honor to start the journey with you. I will get in the trenches with you and we will find the light together. I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Shannon quickly became someone I could trust because she’s completely relatable. I’ve found that other help I’ve sought out can often condescending and disinterested, like they’re the expert and you have to listen to them no matter what. Shannon brings incredible expertise but it’s all rooted in real-life experiences. She’s made it clear I’m never alone in my darkest moments - someone is always willing to share their experience-based insights to remind you there’s good on the other end.

I'm working through my life well but when I need support, not necessarily validation from what life throws at me or what I've brought on due to myself, I can clearly say Shannon is an excellent therapist. She assisted me last year and I am looking forward to reaching out to her again.
