More about Eugenia

  • 22 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCMHC

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University located in Boca Raton, FL. I acquired my Master of Science degree in 1999 from St. Thomas University in Miami, FL where I majored in Mental Health Counseling. I was inducted into Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society in 1998. I am currently licensed in the State of North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor - Supervisor (LCMHC-S), #9235 and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, #2998.

I have over 22 years of working in the mental health field as well as with substance abuse clientele. I am a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), American Psychology Association (APA) and Veterans with PTSD. I specialize in clientele with chronic mental illnesses to include psychosis, personality disorders, addictions and mood disorders. I have extensive experience working with various clientele populations to include children through geriatrics, foster care children, adult inmates and juvenile delinquents.

Therapy is a process whereas the client discusses issues and concerns with me in order to find a way to either cope with situations and/or relieve themselves of the stressor. I like to make sure that clients recognize that it is not a method of being given the answers to your problems or how to solve daily issues. You already have that within yourself! I will be there to be an objective voice in order to help you to view different perspectives from other angles. It is easy for a person to become wrapped up in their own issues that they are unable to rationalize. This is where I come in to help you “to look outside of the box”.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

I was in a very abusive marriage for many years. Eugenia is very positive and supportive of my needs, she listens to my concerns and responds with understanding and care. She helps me by listening, talking, and we do focused projects together that help me focus on the positive aspects of my healing. I highly recommend Eugenia and BetterHelp no matter how seemingly big or small your needs are. She is there for me to help me understand and heal.

Eugenia, has been very upfront with the issues I have. At times she tells/explains things I don't want to hear but I need to be told. She gives me different options in approaching my issues and ways I should have handled my situations differently. She allows me to take my time in answering her questions because she also understands that I have a lot of irons in the fire. Eugenia has helped me a lot in just the short time I have been in this program.
