Hi, my name is Paul Buehler, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in upstate New York with over 30 years experience in the field of mental health and direct services to youth and families. I strongly believe that developing a solid helping relationship is key to supporting anyone in addressing the changes they wish to make in their lives. After all, all change happens within the context of relationships.
I have experience helping children, teens families and adults in coping with stress, anxiety, depression, adjustments to major life changes and conflict in many different areas of life. I also have experience working with the LGBSTQ2SI population as well as children and adults who have experienced trauma. Over the many years the feedback I have received from clients is that I'm compassionate, non-judgmental and truly start where they are and support them in developing or enhancing skills that help them reach their therapeutic goals.
I am available by video, phone, text, email, whatever means clients find the most helpful although it is often most helpful to start with a video meeting to help establish our relationship and initial goals and plan for working together. I am available most mornings, evenings and weekends.
I know how much courage it requires to take the next steps to change your life for the better, and I want to assure you, I am here to help you make the changes that are best for you.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Paul has been excellent.
Great listener, challenges hard set beliefs, pushes for change. Learning a lot with Paul!
I've only had a few sessions with Paul but he's impressed me immensely in the time I've had, as he's cut right to some core issues of mine and is both kind, compassionate, and helps identify when I'm reacting in ways I may not be aware of.
Paul has been the loveliest. I feel heard and supported, and I look forward to our sessions. He is a kind and generous listener, and he really helps me focus on identifying strategies to break unhelpful patterns, as well as on ways to practice those strategies.
