Rob does an excellent job striking the balance between being firm and being warm and patient. I approached him with some personal concerns and objectives, and our weekly sessions were spent addressing those issues head-on while also connecting them to other things I hadn't considered. An incredibly positive experience overall.

More about Robert

My name is Rob Johnson, I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Missouri. I've worked in the mental health field for over 13 years in different roles and love the work I do!

There are several reasons why many people feel stuck in life’s journey and how they want to live. A past that continues to return to the present, patterns that result in the same outcomes, major life changes, uncontrollable circumstances, uncontrollable thoughts/emotions… The list goes on! I enjoy working with people that are looking to better themselves, their relationships, and learn to face their struggles. I take a holistic approach and tailor sessions to individual needs. From my experience, everyone is different... there is no one-size-fits-all therapy. I provide understanding, empathy, and growth. I also provide EMDR, a well-validated therapy that provides quick relief for emotional distress (like break ups) or aid healing traumatic events. I'm an LGBTQ+ ally and and have a focus on sexual well being.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
