Aimee has truly helped me break out of self destructive patterns by recognizing them, taking away the fear and using self compassion as a guide. I cannot recommend her enough. Honestly, being able to put a name to the things I’ve been fighting within has brought me closer to truly living than I’ve been before. That all thanks to Aimee’s ability to listen and seek to understand.

I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in Illinois with more than ten years of professional experience working with clients of all ages (including families). I have provided years of crisis intervention in schools and emergency rooms. I have provided individual and group therapy in various settings including outpatient, residential, and corrections. My approach to therapy is secular, apolitical, and based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This is a very concrete, time-limited, client driven approach that allows individuals to develop a skill set that they are empowered to use to manage distressing thoughts and intense emotions across a wide range of mental health issues. I teach people to be their own therapist.
I have extensive experience working with trauma (simple and complex), and I utilize trauma informed care approaches to help address the root causes of trauma-related symptoms so individuals can overcome the adversity related to traumatic experiences and continue to live rich and healthy lives. I am experienced with providing some court ordered programs such as Anger Management and Divorce Education. I have worked with many families over the years to provide support and assistance for parents struggling with managing behavioral issues in the home. I am certified to provide Parent Management Training (a structured parenting course) and basic behavior management.
I want to work to end the stigma with utilizing mental health professionals. I want my clients to feel like checking in with me is just like seeing a family doctor for the occasional illness or injury. I am open to all clients, and provide a safe, non-judgmental space to process their feelings and learn to manage them. I believe the world would be a better place if we all took care of our mental health by seeing a therapist for general care, and I would love to start with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Hands down the best therapist I have ever worked with! Her knowledge is beyond any therapist that I’ve worked with. 10/10 recommend! So sad to not work with her anymore(I moved out of state)
I love working with her! She has been nothing but a light in the dark and her methods have proven extremely helpful with what I initially came to her about. 10/10.
Aimee is wonderful. She knows how to really dig deep into a client's emotions and understand them. She shows a lot of compassion and really empathize.
Aimee has been very helpful for my mental health and goals. Her goal oriented therapy is extremely helpful when you are looking to have more consistency in your life. She’s a great listener and wants to help you get to the things in life that will help make you more fulfilled.
