Virginia Gil- Ifill supports you in your mental wellness journey and works with you to gather the tools you need to accomplish your goals. Virginia is a licensed mental health counselor in New York who specializes in treating children, teens, and adults experiencing some of life's difficult challenges, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, domestic violence, relationship issues, trauma, and PTSD.

My therapeutic process is quite simple and aimed at creating a nurturing and trusting open space for my clients. I believe therapy is a place to grow and achieve mental wellness goals while using a range of modalities to meet each client's uniqueness. My approach is both psychodynamic and holistic and includes empathy, understanding, compassion, and support. My goal as a counselor is to provide a wide range of treatment modalities to create interest in learning, autonomy, and self-direction. Some modalities used in treatment include mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and solution-focused.

Therapy is a process and empowering to the mindset. In therapy. I guide people through personal challenges, support their emotional challenges, and empower them to achieve a healthier mind and a healthier life. Through the therapeutic process, my goals are to see clients gain a healthier perception in life, strengthen their mindset, and build inner peace, love, and trust within themselves. With the tools gained in therapy, clients can pursue new ways to live in both their professional and personal lives. The ending result is that therapy works. “Success as a psychotherapist is not found by doing something for the client but rather being someone for the client.”- unknown.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
