More about Bartholomew

  • 4 years' experience
  • Male
  • LMFT

I am a licensed therapist with extensive training in treating anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, queer concerns, and family / couple dynamics. I meet with individuals, couples, and families to explore what matters to them most. I meet with clients usually once a week, live, and encourage discussion of any messaging during that time. I like to say it is similar to sending me a journal entry that we can dive deeper into later. My treatment approach for couples and families is emotion-focused therapy. The modality I practice for individuals is psychodynamic and person-centered.

It can be difficult at first to find a good fit with a therapist. I provide a safe space for you to vent while we get to know each other. When the moment calls for more, we dig a little deeper and look to the root of the issue. I can be gentle. I can be blunt. Simply put, I am here to facilitate insight and new experiences to move you that much closer to the life you want.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
